Planning Secrets
We have helped generations of brides create the weddings of their dreams. Over the years we have compiled a list of “ secrets” that we like to share with our brides. While the focus of every wedding is the happy couple, the secret to a truly memorable celebration is remembering all of the other people involved in this day.  Working to create a truly special time for all of your guests - friends and family alike - will make your day live in everyone’s memory.

Here are some of the best kept secrets we’ve learned.

1. When you are selecting items for your bridal registries, create lists that fit everyone’s budget. Include some group gifts as well as some less expensive items.

2. When you are selecting food for your reception, try for food that is generally well liked by most people. The menu doesn’t have to be bland, but don’t pick your wedding reception as the time to serve liver and onions or red hot chili peppers.

3. Pick centerpieces that are beautiful, but not so elaborate that table mates can’t see each other.

4. Personally greet every guest at the ceremony ( remember the receiving line?) or reception.

5. Choose outfits that all of your bridesmaids can afford – or offer to pay for the gowns for all.

6. Suggest a range of accommodations for out of town guests. Not everyone can afford to stay at the 4 star hotel.

7. Work hard to keep the break between the ceremony and the reception to an hour or less. Spread the word that no one – NO ONE should even think about “stealing” the bride for a joy ride around town. Your guests are waiting for the honored couple to begin this magnificent and special party. They don’t need to sit around waiting for a few college friends to decide to bring the bride or the groom back.
